At Santōkai Karate Club we train traditional karate in an inclusive and social environment at Bislett in central Oslo. We practise Kofukan Shito-ryu Kempo karate, and our philosophy is to develop the mind, the body and karate techniques in harmony.
Traditional karate is both an effective self-defence system and excellent training for the whole body. Training with us you will develop physical strength, stamina, endurance, balance, body control, flexibility and efficient techniques. You will learn self-defence and almost certainly gain some new friends. In accordance with Japanese tradition, we also place great value in politeness and acting respectfully towards eachother.
We welcome new members throughout the year, but please contact us to check availability. Karate can be practised by peaple of all ages, and we welcome everyone interested, both with and without previous martial arts experience. You can train with us for a few weeks for free, before you decide if you want to join the club.
Our dojo (training hall) is located at Kristelig Gymnasium, Lille gymsal (in the old school building), Homansbakken 2, Oslo.
